1)
She rides alone (rides alone) on her little black bike,
She rides alone (rides alone)
in the heat of the sun,
She rides alone (rides
alone). She rides alone. She
rides alone (rides alone) through the straights and the turns, 3)
She rides alone (rides alone)
what's she hearing behind,
She rides alone (rides alone)
it's another black bike
He rides alone (rides
alone). He rides alone. 4)
She rides alone (rides alone)
on her little black bike
They ride alone (ride alone) through
the fog and the mist She rides alone, she rides alone, she rides alone, she rides alone. . . . .

| I really wanted to write a
doo-wop song for several years, but they never seemed to
"work." Then one night shortly after I had split up with yet
another boyfriend, I came to the realization that not all of us are
really ment to be part of a couple. Most of my happiest moments have been when I've been alone. Riding my bike is great meditation, so
I was running the Saddle Road, cogitating on this realization, and the
song just wrote itself around the rhythm of the road. So, that was
verses one and two. But the song just didn't seem finished. So I wrote
three and four. Four originally had a different ending:
They ride alone (ride alone) goin' round the next bend The next day I met a fellow on a black bike who became my next boyfriend. AAAAAKKK!!!!!!! Be careful what you write - it can come true! So, I'm still wrassling with the ending of the song. Next time you log in, it may have changed again. |
